Analysis of natural and environmental systems

Studies of the genesis, evolution and dynamics of natural systems in the coastal zone and their related processes, with an emphasis on the use of analysis methods from climatology, geomorphology, glaciology, hydrology, associated with remote sensing and geoprocessing techniques. Analysis of environmental transformations in the different landscapes of coastal areas over time, based on the identification of typologies and the perception of the landscape. Generation of subsidies for environmental planning and management.

Urban-regional analysis

Studies of social formations and transformations as articulating processes of the forms and contents of the city and the countryside in their dynamics and trends, considering their producing agents and their cultural, economic, political and social dimensions. The analysis includes technical and social networks, the impacts of global processes in their relationships with the presence of resistance to hegemonic processes in the countryside and cities, with an emphasis on the coastal system.
